Update 0.1.1.0


This update was significantly delayed due to licencing issues with the game engine, but it’s here now!

0.1.1.0

0.1.1.0 was going to be the spring update for Wizard Duel, but the update got bigger than I expected.

Changes

  • Added character portraits to character select screen
  • Added new character: the War Mage
    • Uses a close-mid range flail that shoots a magic bolt.
    • Their second and third abilities utilize the power of lightning.
  • Changed Alchemist’s second ability from healing to creating a pool of fire, to nerf the strategy of just running away until back to full health.
  • Reduced the attack speed of Hexblade’s first ability.
  • Fixed bug with Psycic’s third skill causing it to not function.
  • Fixed bug with the lava causing game crashes.
  • Added new maps:
    • Three Towers
      • Designed by Classic Quantum
      • Features three climbable towers interspaced with lava pools.
    • Gravopolis
      • City themed map featuring teleporters alowing players to wrap around the screen.
    • Four Floors Down
      • Map with one-way teleporters going back and forth between either side of the map.
    • Nexus
      • Designed by Classic Quantum
      • One of the smallest maps, features teleporters and a radially symetrical design.
    • Catacomb
      • A map made of some cramped connected square areas on the bottom with some more open platforms on top.
  • New maps feature new graphic designed backgrounds by Classic Quantum, rather than the ones I threw together in gimp.
  • Some maps have had their backgrounds updated to be like the new maps.
  • Added a terminal velocity.
  • Added a new map feature: Teleporters
    • These one-way teleporters can be found on some new maps.
  • Added a feature to select a ‘level set’ before starting a match.
    • allows players to select a subset of curated levels to play on.
    • The added level sets are:
      • All Levels
      • Fancy Backgrounds Only
      • New Levels Only
      • Snow Levels Only
      • Ruin Levels Only
  • Tweaked the way levels are selected.
  • Added some help text to the main menu and game settings screens.
  • Changed the skill display graphics.
  • Updated the credits screen.
  • Almost changed the health display to not say ‘ded’ when a player dies, but then decided against it.
